Similar to last years “Shooting Stars” Pack which featured the Foamposite One and Lil Penny Posite, Nike releases another Magic inspired Foamposite/Penny Pack. This year, Nike brings back the Foamposite One “Sharpie” and the new Nike Air Penny 6.
For those of you who do not know the history behind the “Sharpie” theme, the name came to life during the NBA Playoffs when Penny took a Sharpie to his kicks. In order to get the NBA off his back for having too much blue in his shoes, Penny used a black sharpie to have some contrast in his kicks during an NBA Playoffs series against the Miami Heat. Penny went on to score 41 and 42 points wearing his sharpie-inspired foams, and those numbers are on the footbed of each shoe.
The Penny Pack is set to release on Saturday, July 4th, 2015 at select Nike Sportswear retailers. The retail price tag is set at $500 USD.
