20th Anniversary of The Nike Foamposite
In 1997, Nike teamed up with silky smooth 6-7 Point Guard Afernee Hardaway and released a sneaker that would forever go down as one of the best Nike Basketball sneakers of all time.
The foam material and carbon fiber make the Foamposite an extremely durable sneaker that looks just as good off court as it does on court. Foamposites have had a lot of popularity up North, partly due to the fact that they are weather resistant and are comfortable to wear during the fall and winter.
To celebrate the 20th Anniversary of this classic sneaker, Nike is deciding to release the heat. Popular colorways like the Royal Blue, Dr. Doom, Copper, and Eggplants will all be retroed again.
The Foamposite One Royal Blue was the first ever color to release in 1997 and will retro again on December 15th, 2016. Retail on these will be $230
A few days before Black Friday, we will see the Foamposite Pro Dr. Doom. On November 23, 2016 the Dr. Doom's drop and retail will be $230. The last time we saw these was back in 2006 for a Fantastic Four release.
Sometime in early 2017 the Nike Foamposite One Copper and Eggplant drop. Official dates and prices have not yet been released.
You can expect to see a resurgence in Foamposite popularity after these huge releases. Retail price on these are a little high at $230-$250 so resale on them may not be great but do not anticipate these to be sitting on the shelves too long either. Which color Foamposite are you looking forward to the most?
